One of the most famous Ferrari cars was the Ferrari 250GT TDF. Let's examine the name to get some information about the car. As mentioned by many People Ferrari model car early figures are based on the cubic centimeters of a cylinder. This is a V12 so 250 times 12 is 3000 cc, and the actual measured motor out in 2953 cc. Sometimes it is rounded as in the case of the 212, and sometimes up.

The 250 series began in 1953 with the Europe of 250. It was a very popular car, and only about 20 or fewer were built. Other models were called to the 250 GM introduced in 1953, and the 250 GT Europa in 1954, together sold about 37 cars.

The GT in the name of Gran Turismo. Sounds like a slow drive in a car designed for royalty. Nothing could be further from the facts. The 250GT was designed to compete in the international long distance races. These cars were designed to be lightweight and fast. While the 250GT was designed by Pinin Farina's house, the first was created by coachbuilder Scaglietti called. These two companies have worked together since the 1950s and are still involved in the design and construction of existing Ferrari cars, Scaglietti, but later became a part of Ferrari.

The first had a 250GT whole body of aluminum in the typical structure oval steel tubing. Depending on the tune engines produced from 230bph to 280bph at 7,000 rpm. The cars were stripped of what could be considered the minimum equipment security, without seat belts or roll bars and four-wheel drum brakes. No items were found in luxury cars from Ferrari to talk about both. The interior accommodates the wealthy landlords who felt they had bought a car for a race, not leisure units on the field.

Around 84 of them were produced from 1955 to 1959. Many varied slightly in their body shapes, however they were all Berlinettas.

What is the origin of the PTO? Good Ferrari was winning a variety of races from 1954 to 1959. Times won the Tour de France in 1957 and several won the first three places. This took the car to be known as TDF 250 GT.

Would you like one of these cars made famous? Well, one will be auctioned on 17 May 2009. The initial estimated range of $ 2.7 million to $ 4.3 million. If you read this article after the auction, check the results on the RM auction in London.

Dennis Dater has been involved with cars for over 50 years. His first love was sports cars when he drove a 1952 MG to high school.

Take a look at the new F4530 replacement… the Ferrari 458 Italia! The price for this beauty in the UK… £169,545. Is this too expensive or very affordable? Share your thoughts! But how abnormally expensive is this compared to other Prancing Horse cars? It’s priced between the California and 599 Fiorano– respectively, £143,325 and £207,075–some would say it’s just the right price for one of Ferrari’s newest and sleekest car models. However, available options on the 458 will dramatically skyrocket the price well over £170,000 e.g. if you include steering wheel LEDs, alcantara boot carpet, electric seats, and a spare wheel.

Regardless of whether you decide to spoil yourself with the extra options, the 458 Italia base model comes equipped with lots of features that will make any gear-head or Ferrari enthusiast salivate; as stated by WorldCarFans.com, “4.5-liter V8 engine with 570 CV (at9000 rpm), 540 Nm of torque,… 458 Italia rockets from 0-100 km/h in less that 3.4 seconds.”

So are you going to take the plunge? I just might have to…

[Thanks WorldCarFans.com and Evo.co.uk!]
